Imtra Marine Lighting Sponsors Grants
For New Enrollments in Westlawn
Courses
Industry Leader Provides Tuition Assistance for New
Students
September 19, 2008, Annapolis, MD: Imtra Marine Lighting, in conjunction with matching
funds from the American Boat & Yacht Council (ABYC), has generously
sponsored a new grant program for new students enrolling in the Westlawn
Institute of Marine Technology’s entry-level courses. Upon enrollment in
either Module 1 of the full Yacht & Boat Design program or in Elements of
Technical Boat Design (formerly Yacht Design Lite), each new student will be
awarded $200.
Dave Gerr, Westlawn Director commented, “This is a great
opportunity to start Westlawn study with financial support, and we recommend
that students considering enrolling in Westlawn take advantage of this soon!”
The combined Imtra Marine Lighting and ABYC matching funds are limited. The
grants are available to all, but only until all the funds are expended.
Gerr continued, “Even in
the current economic climate, Westlawn consistently has more positions on its
job board than we have advanced students and graduates to fill. The boating
industry needs more students in the program to meet demand.” “We would like to
thank Imtra Marine Lighting for their support of future Westlawn students
through this program. Besides the obvious monetary relief, we are helping
students explore their dreams, and helping to fill a need within our industry,”
concluded Gerr.
